Grosvenor & Hilbert Park NewsHere are the posts for August 2015 Summer Fun Author: Chris Hughes, Date Published: Fri 7th Aug 2015 Summer fun really kicked off in Grosvenor and Hilbert Park when over 500 people attended this year’s National Play Day. The day launched the summer events programme which has an exciting mix of activities on offer and runs throughout August. National Play Day celebrates the right of children to play, with events held across the UK. This year’s free event was held on Wednesday 5th August and was run by the Kent High Weald Partnership, with support from the Friends of Grosvenor and Hilbert Park. On offer were a large range of activities including mud pie making, willow weaving, woodworking, face painting and storytelling. There was a surprise visit from Kent Fire Service, when they called in to show a delighted audience around the fire engine and explain how everything worked. Friday 7th was again a busy day in the park, with a Climbing and Archery day on offer. At nearly 25 feet (7.3m) the climbing wall was an impressive sight in the park and could accommodate 4 climbers at any one time. If you were a budding Robin Hood, tuition was on offer to those wanting to try their luck on the archery course. Other activities during August include skateboard and football coaching, a circus skills day, big bug hunt, woodland crafts, forest fun day and bird box building. | FoGH News
