April 2022 Update
Date Published: Sat 2nd Apr
Hoping that everyone is managing to stay well - and can work out what clothes they need for our incredibly varied weather! The latest newsletter is out now, and we have quite a few events coming up.
Lost/ found property: This is a difficult matter for FoGH as we are volunteers, and visit the park at different times. Generally small found items arre handed in to the cafe (Table 8) and larger items make their way to the park keeper's compound (opp bowls green). We do get asked if 'we' have found things, and we can check back with both Table 8 and park keeper Tony Cheeseman, but often it's quicker to just pop back to the park and ask them!
As a vast quantity of large found items are now in the compound, and despite some posts we made on social media to try and find the owners, they remain unclaimed. We will be offering these 'for sale/ donation' at our April litter pick event to try and make room. The official council policy is that only very valuable items are reported to the Police, other items found in parks are disposed of after a reasonable time.
We are looking forward to more warm weather so we can get out and about and help with some planting and weeding events.
We have agreed to not have a FoGH event for the Jubilee, but there's an awful lot happening in Tunbridge Wells that weekend.
